The Ultimate Reddit Post Review Checklist
You mapped out the strategy. You wrote the draft. But before you push that submit button to a subreddit with 500,000 members, you need to run a final mechanical QA check. One broken rule here means instant deletion.
Mechanical Spam Check
These are the immediate red flags Automod looks for.
- Are there ZERO link-shorteners (bit.ly, tinyurl)?
- Is the link free of UTM tracking tags?
- Is the title formatted normally (Not EVERY WORD CAPITALIZED)?
- Does the post contain fewer than 3 total links?
Tone and Value Check
This is what human moderators look for when deciding whether to ban you.
- Is the word "buy," "subscribe," or "discount" removed?
- Does the first paragraph immediately deliver value?
- Is your affiliation clearly disclosed?
